Why I want to be an OHIO First Scholars Advocate: I want to be a First Scholars Advocate because there are so many first-generation college students who work in higher education (like me) and it's important that we make ourselves visible not only to the "next gen" of "first gen", but to the campus community as a whole! I hope that first-gen students see themselves reflected in university administration, faculty, and staff and understand that not only can they thrive in higher education, but maybe some day be leaders as well.
