OHIO nursing graduate to serve as lab coordinator at OHIO Chillicothe

Michelle Taylor, a two-time graduate of 花季传媒, has joined the faculty at 花季传媒 Chillicothe as an assistant professor of instruction and will serve as the lab coordinator for OHIO Chillicothe鈥檚 nursing program.

Taylor brings 23 years of experience at OhioHealth鈥檚 postpartum unit and experience as an adjunct nursing instructor to her new role in the School of Nursing within the College of Health Sciences and Professions.

Driven by a passion for helping people, Taylor pursued nursing after caring for her husband's grandmother as she experienced Alzheimer's disease. She earned an associate degree in nursing at Columbus State Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at 花季传媒. Last year, she earned a master鈥檚 degree in nursing education from 花季传媒.

Taylor has previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Columbus State Community College and looks forward to guiding OHIO Chillicothe students in their nursing journeys.

鈥淚 love teaching,鈥� she said. 鈥淚 love being a part of that atmosphere. I wanted to help guide new students into the world of nursing.鈥� 

OHIO Chillicothe鈥檚 nursing faculty is excited to welcome Taylor to the campus.

"We are thrilled to have Michelle join us as our new nursing lab coordinator,鈥� said Lindsey Shotts, interim associate director of the School of Nursing. 鈥淗er strong work ethic, commitment to excellence and depth of clinical expertise make her an invaluable addition to our team."

She will maintain her nursing skills by continuing to work in the clinical setting at OhioHealth on an as-needed basis, filling in for shifts when needed.

Taylor acknowledges the challenging nature of nursing school and advises students to persevere.

鈥淚t鈥檚 very hard, but don鈥檛 quit. You鈥檒l get through it,鈥� she said, suggesting that students form study groups and find the support they will need from their classmates and friends.

In her new role, Taylor is eager to help students progress toward their goals and gain the skills and experience they will need to succeed as nurses. She is excited to meet the students and watch them grow and learn.

Outside the clinical or classroom setting, Taylor enjoys sewing and spending time with her family, including six grandchildren.
