International Student Emergency Relief Fund

General Fund Information

The International Student Emergency Relief Fund was established by a generous emergency grant from the Athens County Foundation and with the support of over 200 donors to date.

This fund is used to respond to immediate needs for international students in Athens, Ohio. Awards will be provided to support living expenses such as rent, medical bills, and utilities, as well as food. These funds may not be used to pay tuition and/or fees. If funds are limited, priority will go toward rent and medical expenses.

Only one application per person will be accepted during this funding cycle. If you plan to request funds for multiple things, be sure to address them all in the requested narrative.

You are required to upload documentation at the end of the survey (e.g., receipts, copy of lease) to justify your request. 

The committee will award the available funds based upon fully completed applications, including the uploaded required documentation.  

The committee reserves the right to review previous funding provided through the prior funding cycle, as well as to use other university mechanisms including payroll and financial aid data as needed in the decision-making process.
