Stefani Fichtel is a senior at »¨¼¾´«Ã½, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture. With a passion for creating spaces that foster healing and well-being, she is dedicated to designing environments that uplift and serve communities. Her thesis focuses on a Foster Care Center in New Mexico, integrating Trauma-Informed and Biophilic Design to support the emotional and physical needs of children and families.

A former foster parent, Stefani has firsthand experience with the challenges children in the system face. This personal connection fuels her commitment to designing spaces that offer safety, stability, and a sense of belonging. Her work blends thoughtful architecture with natural materials, rooted in the New Mexico landscape.

Throughout her academic career, Stefani has been recognized for excellence in design and leadership. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, has earned spots on the Dean’s and Provost’s Lists, and was a top 28 finalist in the Steelcase National Student Design Competition.

Outside of school, Stefani is the founder of Stefani Elizabeth Interiors, offering interior design consulting and home styling services for sellers and realtors, with plans to expand into a full- service firm after completing the NCIDQ exam. She’s been married to her husband, Mike, for 19 years, and together they have three boys: Michael (17), William (13), and Benjamin (10). She draws design inspiration from family travels, nature, and architecture around the world.

Stefani believes successful design blends form and function, creating spaces that are both beautiful and livable. Passionate about Biophilic Design, her work focuses on connecting people to nature in meaningful ways. Her timeless, bespoke style prioritizes comfort, curation, and everyday usability.
